We are childhood friends who, after years of exploring different career paths, found a common passion in design. Kristen's focus in Interior Architecture combined with Courtney's expertise in furnishings and interior styling, rounds out the Hayford design team... while also giving us an excuse to hang out all day (the perfect job does exist!).
KRISTEN FORD
Designer & Founder
Kristen built Hayford Design on the premise that everyone has a unique story waiting to be told. Her previous career in public relations showed her the power of a strong narrative which today translates into how she crafts cohesive spaces with character. Working closely with Clients, Kristen expresses their individual style while designing for real life.
Kristen earned a degree in Interior Architecture & Design from the University of California Berkeley Extension. She lives in Pacific Palisades, CA with her husband Stewart, son Henrik, daughter Vivienne and two sassy corgies Lottie & Barbara.
Courtney RIETZ
Senior Designer & Stylist
Courtney launched her design career in staging and styling. She has an eye for striking the right balance between layering furniture styles and meeting the functional needs of a space. Courtney loves a clean aesthetic and is always seeking fun ways to make Client's personalities pop in a space.
Courtney has a Professional Staging Associate Certification (PSA), a Feng Shui Certification (CFSS), and a Color Consultant Certification through Benjamin Moore. Courtney lives in Santa Monica with her husband Taylor and their Frenchie Spud.
